At Sensation Station, our Speech and Language Therapy
services are designed to support children in developing
essential communication skills.

Whether your child is facing challenges with speech, language, or social communication, our experienced therapists provide personalised, evidence-based interventions tailored to their unique needs. Our goal is to help each child express themselves effectively, fostering confidence and enhancing their ability to connect with others in a supportive and nurturing environment. Through our comprehensive approach, we aim to empower your child to reach their full potential in communication

Speech and Language Therapists or Pathologists (SaLT OR SLP) assess and manage a wide range of speech, language and communication needs.

Communication is an essential component for learning and concerns are often first raised when children start nursery/school.

Your child’s teacher may have noticed that you child is not speaking, their speech is not fluent or is unclear, they may have difficulty understanding and following instructions or might display frustration because they might be struggling to communicate their needs.

We work with a range of children including (but not limited to): Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Cerebral Palsy (CB), Down’s Syndrome (DS), Williams Syndrome, Cleft Lip and Palate, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) previously known as Specific Language Impairment, Brain Injury, Cognitive Delays and Disorders and Auditory Processing Disorder.

Therapists use a variety of evidence-based interventions, in a fun and eclectic environment, including: DIRFloortime®, Lidcombe, Colorful Semantics, Attention Autism, Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme (NDP3), Hanen Program®, PROMPT. An SaLT supports children with limited verbal communication using Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) such as PECS®, Makaton and Proloquo2Go. These interventions are fun and eclectic.

Ready to book your

Parent
Consultation

Before starting therapy sessions, the therapist will conduct a Parent Consultation (PC), an essential step in the intervention process.

This session typically lasts about 30-40 minutes and serves several important purposes:

The information gathered during the Parent Consultation is crucial for guiding the therapist’s intervention and setting appropriate goals.

The therapist will provide verbal feedback on their initial thoughts and recommendations for the next steps.
